The Journey Begins
- The Department of sociology was started in 1990
- At first this department was started with general course.
- Major course was started in 2001.
Vision of the college
To prepare the students to understands, realized and to soul the social vice and obstacles and to make them feet for contributing to the socio-economic development of the surrounding areas.
Mission of the college
- To provide opportunity for quality higher education.
- To facilitate the inculcation of moral, cultural & spiritual values among the youth.
- To encourage the youth to fight against all forms of social evils and superstitions.
- To instill leadership role among the young in order to develop environmental awareness.
- To promote and extend helping hands to the nearby community and educational institutions in order to create a responsible attitude for the upcoming generation.
- To maintain and create a healthy atmosphere of gender equity.
Departmental Library
- The departmental library was started on 5th September, 2015
- Name of the library is Max Weber Library
- This is the first departmental library in the college
- Number of Books: 150 copies
- Books are donated by the teachers and the students of the department

- The department has a notice board in departmental room
Wall Magazine
- The department has a wall magazine named ‘Rengoni’.
- This magazine has been publishing by the students of the department since 2016.
Annual Printed Magazine
- The department of sociology has its own printed magazine named ‘Anusandhan’
This magazine has been publishing since 2020.
