Students’ Union Body

     Marangi Mahavidyalaya          

The Marangi Mahavidyalaya Students’ Union is the general body of the students of the College. Its membership is compulsory for every student admitted to the College. The members of the Union are elected annually through the method of direct voting. This union is elected by the bonafide students of the college through the general election.

The college strictly follow the recommendations of the “Lyngdoh Committee” for the election of the Students’ Union Body. The Posts of the Office Bearers of the Students Union Body are President, Vice President, General Secretary, Asst. General Secretary, Girls’ Common Room Secretary, Social Service Secretary, Games and Sports Secretary, Music and Culture Secretary, Debating & Symposium Secretary, Magazine Secretary.

The Union endeavors to foster and promote fraternity, mutual understanding, and a sense of responsibility among the students. The Students’ Union organizes games and sports, debates, cultural and social activities among the students during the College Week, which is being organized annually.

The functions of the Union Body shall be:

  1.  The Union Body prepare the Budget of the College Union for the session.
  2.  The Union Body takes initiatives to take up various college related activities approved of by  the Principal.
  3. It enhances the overall educational experiences of students through   development of, exposure to, and participation in social, cultural,      multicultural, intellectual, recreational, traditional, community service, and campus governance programs.
  4.  It observes and celebrates special days like Republic Day, Independence Day, International Women Day, World Environment Day etc. with the college authority.
  5. It organises  Freshers’ Social every year for the new comers.
  6. It serves as a link between the management and student community for a healthy educative  environment.
  7. It motivates students to be responsible citizens.
  8. It promotes a spirit of democracy, integrity, and fraternity among students.

Vision of the Students Union Body

  • The prime vision of the Student Union is to empower, encourage and support the College family on their journey to being the best version of themselves.
  • The Student Union Body of Marangi Mahavidyalaya is the community center of the college campus. It provides an environment for relaxation, social interaction, education and exchange of thoughts.
  • It serves students, staff, faculty, alumni and the nearby community.
